A smallholder is a small-scale farmer who grows crops as their primary source of income. They face obstacles ranging from having a low harvest due to their lack of opportunity to learning the best farming practices, to bigger issues of fruit pricing and market changes.
Around the world, there are over 7 million smallholders who cultivate palm oil for a living. Living in remote areas, many smallholders are unable to get the knowledge and resources they need to overcome the battles they often face alone.
